Gum Treatments (Periodontal Disease, or pyorrhea):

The gums and soft tissue of our mouth support the bone which holds our teeth, much like a foundation to a house.  If we lose the foundation due to rotten wood or termites, we lose our house.  If the bacteria that causes gum disease is left unchecked, we will lose the foundation for our teeth;  which will then cause them to become
loose, bleed, give us bad breath, etc.  Gum disease is totally painless until it is too late to save our teeth.

For severe cases of Gum disease and recession we have an in house periodontist, Dr. Charles Goodman that comes to our office once every two months for the convenience of our patients.

Below is a picture of a patient with severe gum disease.  We did a deep cleaning and look at the difference in the two sides a couple of weeks later.
